About Us

The Gulf Coast Association for the Education of Young Children (GCAEYC) is a tax-exempt, non-profit 501 (c)3 organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in Galveston, Brazoria and Southeast Harris Counties. Our organization seeks to improve teaching and learning by building the early childhood profession and promoting awareness of issues affecting children and their families.

Our Affiliations

GCAEYC is the local affiliate of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) . The association is also affiliated with Texas Association for the Education of Young Children (TAEYC) and the Southern Early Childhood Association (SECA).

Our Vision

The nautilus sea creature builds its shell with many chambers connected to each other by a single lifeline. Gulf Coast AEYC envisions a community of children, families, educators, elected officials, and business members who build upon each other a lifeline of commitment to improve the quality of life for young children through advocacy, collaboration, and education.

Our Mission

The mission of Gulf Coast AEYC is to enhance and expand services that benefit the development and learning of young children by:

Increasing professional development opportunities for educators and families of young children
Raising public awareness of issues impacting education for all children
Developing partnerships with our local communities that benefit children
